Life
A Frankish noble converted by Remigius, who refused a bishopric for a forest hermitage near Limoges. The king granted him all the land he could ride round on his donkey in a night, and leave to free every prisoner he visited — medieval captives invoked him across Europe, hanging their broken chains at his shrine.
