Updated

MATTHEW 11:28

Come to me, all you who labor and have been burdened, and I will refresh you.

Saint of the day

St. Narcissus of Jerusalem

Bishop

PSALM 118:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my paths.

An illustration of the two widgets on a Home Screen. The verses are two of the 35,804 it can deal; the saint is the one Bless gives today.

Verse of the Hour

A new verse every half hour.

On the hour and the half hour, the widget turns to another verse — any of the 35,804 verses of all 73 books, the deuterocanon included. Tap it and Bless opens on that verse.

It always shows the Catholic Public Domain Version, whichever translation you read in the app (in the 12 chapters where Bless uses the Douay-Rheims, it shows that). The small size suits short verses; the medium has room for longer ones.

Saint of the Day

The saint of the day, at a glance.

The widget shows the saint Bless gives the date — the same saint as the Today tab — with their title, and turns over at midnight. Tap it to open their life, feast, patronage and their own words.

Bless has a saint for every date, so it is not always the saint the Mass celebrates that day.

Good to know

What the widgets don’t do.

  • They live on the Home Screen only. There are no Lock Screen widgets.
  • They come in small and medium sizes, not large.
  • Verse of the Hour shows the CPDV even if you read the Douay-Rheims in the app.
  • They are part of Bless Premium ($4.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the US). Without it, they show a lock.
