Life
A Capuchin who preached in a dozen languages across Europe, read Scripture in its originals from memory, served as his order’s general walking to every province, and — sent as chaplain against an invading army — rode before the troops with a crucifix. His collected sermons fill fifteen volumes; he is the ‘Apostolic Doctor.’
