Life
An absent-minded, unlucky friar — ‘Brother Open-Mouth’ — who could scarcely pass an examination and rose in ecstasy at the name of Jesus: his flights, witnessed by popes, dukes, and a skeptical Lutheran or two, are among the best-attested marvels of the age. Kept in seclusion most of his life, he stayed serene, content to be God’s little bird.
