Life
The fisherman son of Zebedee, the disciple whom Jesus loved: he leaned on the Lord’s breast at supper, stood alone of the Twelve at the Cross, received the Mother, and outran Peter to the empty tomb. To the Church he left the fourth Gospel, three letters, and the Apocalypse — and, grown old at Ephesus, one repeated sermon, that his little children love one another.
