Life
Anna Muttathupadathu of Kerala, a Franciscan Clarist whose short life was one long illness — burns, tumors, malaria — borne with a hidden gaiety her students loved. She wrote that she felt the Lord had destined her to be an offering of suffering. Cures at her tomb began with schoolchildren; she is India’s first canonized woman.
