Life
An Augustinian friar of the Italian Marches, thirty years in one friary, whose nights of prayer for the dead and days in the slums of Tolentino made him the first canonized of his order. Bidden in a dream by a suffering soul, he made the deliverance of the dead his life’s intention; the ‘bread of St. Nicholas’ is blessed for the sick in his memory.
