Life
A Mallorcan philosophy professor who sailed for the missions at thirty-five, walked to Mexico City on an injured leg he never let heal, and founded nine of California’s twenty-one missions from San Diego to San Francisco, confirming thousands. He lived by a simple rule: always go forward, never turn back.
