Life

One of the two downcast disciples on the Emmaus road whom the risen Lord joined unrecognized, opening the Scriptures until their hearts burned, and revealing himself in the breaking of the bread. Ancient tradition counts Cleophas among the Lord’s own kin, and a martyr in the house where he had received him.
