About Titus

About Titus · Pastoral letter

Titus is a short field manual addressed to Paul's delegate on Crete, a rough mission territory with a young, disorganized church: appoint worthy elders in every town, mute the troublemakers, and teach every age and station what sound living looks like. It belongs with the letters to Timothy, and shares both their authorship discussion and their conviction that doctrine and conduct are inseparable. It was written to show that grace itself is a teacher, training believers to renounce ungodliness — the loveliest summary of Christian formation in the pastorals.
