# Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the Bless: Scroll Catholic Bible iPhone app: the license, the texts in it, the study notes written with AI, Bless Premium subscriptions and your notes.

Updated October 20, 2026

## 1. Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Funn Apps (“we”, “us”) covering your use of the Bless: Scroll Catholic Bible iPhone application (“Bless”, “the app”). By downloading or using Bless you agree to these Terms. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple’s standard [Licensed Application End User License Agreement](https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/); where the two conflict, these Terms govern to the extent permitted.

## 2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Bless on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the app, and you may not reverse-engineer or attempt to extract its source code except where the law permits it despite this restriction.

## 3. The texts in Bless

Bless is built from public-domain and openly licensed sources, and every quoted line in the app is attributed:

- Scripture is presented in the Catholic Public Domain Version and the Douay-Rheims translation (Challoner revision), both public domain, alongside the Clementine Vulgate (1592) and, where available, Hebrew and Greek source texts from openly licensed editions. The Catholic Public Domain Version is a private translation and has no imprimatur.
- Commentary and quotations come from named historical sources (Bishop Richard Challoner’s annotations, and the writings of saints and Church Fathers), each attributed in the app. Most quotations were not written about the particular verse they appear beside: they are linked to it by theme or drawn from the wider collection. Sayings whose source could not be confirmed are labeled as such.
- The app never reproduces the text of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Catechism entries in Bless are paragraph references with the Catechism’s own section headings, linking to the official text on vatican.va.

The texts and their licenses are listed on [About Bless](https://blessbible.app/about/#texts).

## 4. Study notes written with AI

Some content in Bless was written for it with artificial intelligence: the Study cards, the book introductions, the Discover cards and the saints’ biographies. On some devices, study notes can also be generated on your iPhone by Apple’s on-device language model. This content carries no source attribution. It is a reading aid, not the teaching of the Catholic Church, not doctrine, and not professional, pastoral, or spiritual advice. It may contain mistakes. For authoritative teaching, consult the cited sources and your own pastor or teacher.

## 5. Bless Premium subscriptions

Bless Premium adds Hebrew & Greek word study, the full Study sheet, all of Discover, the Home Screen widgets and writing private notes. It is an auto-renewing subscription offered as a monthly plan and a yearly plan (in the United States, $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year). Eligible new subscribers may be offered a free trial (3 days with the monthly plan, 7 days with the yearly plan); the app shows whether a trial applies before you subscribe. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you subscribe and may change; any change applies only to future renewal periods.

- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device’s Settings (Apple Account › Subscriptions) at any time.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies; we cannot issue refunds directly.
- Purchases are processed by Apple; we use RevenueCat to confirm subscriptions (see the [Privacy Policy](https://blessbible.app/privacy/)).

The free tier of Bless does not require a subscription. It includes the complete Bible in both translations, every comment (including Bishop Challoner’s notes and the Catechism links), search, Today, Study’s Context tab, two Discover cards a day, saving and sharing verses, the daily reminder, and reading your own notes.

## 6. Your notes

Notes you write in Bless are yours. They are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us. Writing new notes requires a Bless Premium subscription; notes you have already written remain readable in the app regardless of subscription status. Deleting the app deletes your notes.

## 7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Bless in any way that violates applicable law, infringes the rights of others, or attempts to interfere with the app’s operation or Apple’s services.

## 8. Disclaimer of warranties

Bless is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any content in it (quoted, summarized, computed or generated) is free of errors, including the liturgical calendar and Mass reading citations.

## 9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Funn Apps will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app will not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose.

## 10. Changes to the app and these Terms

We may update, change, or discontinue features of the app over time. We may also revise these Terms; the date above will change when we do, and material changes will be noted in the app’s release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

## 11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Funn Apps is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights you hold under the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
